Torpere
I'm aware that I am swimming, my body is fighting its way through heavy water, water that moves aggressively. More than that, I am weighed down by my clothes. I tug at them, wanting to be free of them. At the same time, I'm groping through the water, trying to find someone. More water hits my face and I taste salt. I taste blood, too. There's no sound other than my own breathing and the water's crashing. I continue to desperately search the water and submerge myself. Underwater, I only hear the ocean's heart. I don't know how to describe it; it sort of like pulses and the pulses remind me I'm being timed. One... two... three... I swim deeper
